I read an article on RSS. Is RSS important to SEO? If so, what is the importance of RSS?
RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a web page publisher/notifier, which is mostly used by blogs and news sites and allows easy tracking of newly added content. RSS Feeds will not help your website rank better. The file format it uses is .rss and .xml.
The most important difference between the maps in XML and RSS format is that all the URLs of the site and some details of these URLs are included in the XML maps, while only the most recent changes are made in RSS / Atom feeds. Therefore, Google treats and evaluates maps in these 2 formats differently. This is as follows:
While XML maps are usually large, RSS / Atom feeds are much smaller because they contain updates from the site.
XML maps are downloaded and scanned at a much lower frequency by Googlebot compared to RSS / Atom feeds.
Regardless of both the TrustRank value and the PR value of the website you will shoot with the RSS component, we recommend that you do not use it too much.
